Klay Thompson practically danced in delight. He dribbled with his feet half a dozen times a day last week, then jumped with both feet to complete two laps while triumphantly raised his right hand in recognition of the cheers of his supporters.
Thompson is finally back in basketball.
Stephen Curry’s Splash Brother has received medical clearance and is expected to play in an NBA game for the first time in more than two and a half years on Sunday against Cleveland after two serious injuries.
The Golden State star officially got to work on Saturday with his own creative announcement on Instagram that he loves to do. In his post, Thompson wrote “Bill Murray is my soul” accompanied by a video from the movie Space Jam and Murray’s statement of “Maybe I can help a little.”
The Warriors followed shortly after with the official announcement that Thompson would be available for the game against the Cavaliers.
Coach Steve Kerr would not confirm Thompson’s condition after Saturday’s practice, saying, “it was not my announcement or decision.” He also instructed the media to look at their phones, thanking him for supporting his “character”.
