“It was nice to see some of the textures from Daenerys dresses, jackets and embroidery,” says Clapton. CHEAP at the event in Los Angeles. “It was exciting to discover this process, we were actually able to take it and apply it to the egg, and the color was beautiful and very subtle. I didn’t realize how much control you could have on the colors, and how beautifully they came together.”
The Mother of Dragons egg is adorned with thousands of white diamonds, pink sapphires, moonstones and rubies, courtesy of Gemfields – and all in keeping with Her Name, the Breaker. chain and Queen of the Andals and the First Men.

An 18-karat white gold dragon tail surrounds the base, decorated with diamonds and white moons, and houses a twisting mechanism of moving and linking joints that required a “time consuming” design process. “.
The protest opens to reveal another egg made of three 18-karat gold blades, each representing Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. The inner shell of the inner egg is finished with more than 20 deep red blood-drop-like rubies surrounded by hundreds of pink sapphires and white diamonds.
The “heart” of the egg is a pear-cut ruby atop a removable white gold tiara that can be removed and attached as a pendant to a necklace chain concealed within the piece.
In a statement, Jones explained: “The main challenge of a piece like this, aside from actually creating the work, is how all the components have to be created and fit together – order. they should be fabricated and assembled to cover what needs to be concealed and to maintain the overall aesthetic while successfully achieving functionality. There is no ‘textbook’ to refer to this, rather this knowledge is the result of years of experience gained working on parts of this nature, a knowledge can only exist in projects like this continue to be made. How long before it prevails! ”
The costume designer understands the Fabergé team’s dedication to details that may not be visible to the naked eye.
“I think it is the same for Game of Thrones – I embroider by hand [costumes], and people will ask, ‘Why?’ Because I want to know that it’s there, and I don’t really mind if people don’t notice,” Clapton explained. “But later, in exhibitions, people can see it. But everything makes sense, and there’s a story in every outfit. I found a group of people in Fabergé who share the same passion for the craft.”
Russian jeweler and goldsmith Peter Carl Fabergé began the tradition of decorating eggs with gems in 1885 when he was commissioned by Tsar Alexander III to create an Easter egg for his wife. He created 50 Royal Eggs for the royal family by 1916.
