“As I got closer, I saw this beautiful turtle overturned with a look of despair and exhaustion, its body constricted and entangled in the fishing net,” she said. “I immediately set out to free her from the net that was strangling her, but even after we untied her, she was too tired to go back into the ocean.”
That’s when Gisele solved the problem herself. “I didn’t think about it at all, I just picked him up and carried him into the water,” she added. “I’m relieved and happy to see her swim away freely, I’m grateful that I was there and able to help.”
Gisele, who chose sea turtles as her “kind species” during the UN’s ‘Wild For Life’ campaign in 2016, urged her followers to take care of the animals in their area, writing : “I pray that we can all rise up, and remember that the opportunity for change begins with a single action.”
