For the first time since her death, the people closest to Gabby Petito is unraveling her life in an upcoming documentary.

The Gabby Petito Murder: Truth, Lies, and Social Media, which will stream on Peacock starting Friday, December 17, will provide details on Petito’s story, the unanswered questions about her case, and the devastating conclusion. In their first documentary interview, Gabby’s parents and grandparents reflect on their daughter’s life, including sharing childhood memories and never-before-seen details.

“It’s like every parent’s nightmare,” said Gabby’s stepfather, Jim Schimdt, recall in the trailer. “Like, just for a split second. She’s gone, she’s missing.”

The 22-year-old YouTuber’s disappearance gained national attention after her parents announced her missing on September 11. Petito and her 23-year-old fiance, Brian Laundrie, which began on a cross-country road trip through the Western United States a few months earlier, with the pair documenting their trip on Instagram and YouTube. On September 1, however, Laundrie returned to her Florida home in Petito’s campground, alone.
