[WATCH] Virat Kohli fan breaks security, takes selfie with cricketer during Day 2 of India vs Sri Lanka pink ball match in Bengaluru
There was a security breach at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday when several fans ran into the field to take selfies with Virat kohli. The incident happened on the 2nd day of the competition between the pink balls India and Sri Lanka in Bengaluru on Sunday when the star cricketer was fighting in the slip area.
In a video that went viral on social media platforms, three fans can be seen storming the stadium and running towards Kohli to take selfies. Security officials tried their best to kick them out even when the cricketer himself asked them not to be too rough with the fans.
The 33-year-old eventually accepted the selfie request but asked fans to maintain social distancing, noting biobubble protocols.
Virat Kohli received massive support in the Crowd Test when he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ongoing test in Bengaluru is his 101st appearance for India in the game’s longer format. He completed 100 matches in the First Test in Mohali.
Virat Kohli got lbw removed in both turns
Although Virat Kohli received a warm welcome in both appearances, he can contribute a lot with willow. The former captain was sacked 23 in the first inning, trapped by Dhananjaya de Silva.
In the 2nd round, he fell 13 first, this time against Praveen Jayawickrama. On both occasions, the ball went low, making Kohli very difficult to block.
Despite Kohli’s twin defeat, Team India found themselves at the helm in the Pink Ball Test which featured Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Jasearch Bumrah. While Shreyas scored 92 and 67, Pant contributed 39 and 50. Bumrah won 5 for 24 in the first Sri Lankan turn and sent Lahiru Thirimanne back for a duck in the second.
Chasing 447 to win, Sri Lanka went to great lengths on Day 2 with a score of 28 to 1.
