Waterbrook Builders Dream Home Nightmare By Thomas Yianilos
Deerfield Beach, Florida home builder Thomas Yianilos is the founder and owner of Waterbrook Builders. Unfortunately for two ex-clients of his, the homes that he built were defective and needed over a million dollars in repairs to be fixed. It got so bad that he has been engulfed in numerous lawsuits as you can see on the Waterbrook Builders review website and he has not 1 but 2 websites created to showcase all of the issues and problems with his builds of high end single family homes.
Major Issues with Waterbrook Builders House
Let’s start with drywall. Uneven drywall throughout a house refers to walls and ceilings that are not level or smooth. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as uneven framing, poor drywall installation, or issues with the house’s foundation. Uneven drywall can lead to a number of problems, including difficulty hanging shelves or curtains, and can also be unsightly. To fix uneven drywall, it may be necessary to remove and replace the affected areas, or to address the underlying structural issues causing the problem. Unfortunately, Tommy refused to fix these issues as you can see in one of the Fort Lauderdale homes built by Waterbrook:
So now the next issue with Waterbrook Builders houses are water intrusion. Water intrusion can be a serious problem in a house because it can lead to a variety of issues, such as structural damage, mold growth, and health problems. When water enters a home, it can weaken the structure of the building, causing walls, ceilings, and floors to become unstable. Additionally, water that is left standing can lead to the growth of mold, which can cause health problems such as allergies, asthma, and respiratory infections. Furthermore, water can also damage personal belongings like furniture, appliances, and electronics. In some cases, it can also cause electrical hazards. To prevent water intrusion, it is important to properly maintain the home’s roof, gutters, and foundation, and to address any leaks or other issues as soon as they are discovered. When Tommy Yianilos refused to address his clients issues of water intrusion this created yet another problem.
Paint is peeling throughout his houses that Waterbrook built. Now this can occur for a variety of reasons. Some common causes include:
- Moisture: If there is high humidity or leaks in the house, the paint may peel due to the moisture present in the air or on the walls.
- Poor surface preparation: If the walls were not cleaned or properly primed before painting, the paint may not adhere properly and will begin to peel.
- Improper paint type: If the paint used is not suitable for the surface or environment, it may not adhere well and will begin to peel.
- Temperature: Extreme temperatures can cause paint to expand and contract, leading to peeling.
- Age: Over time, paint can lose its adhesion and begin to peel, especially if it was not properly maintained or if the surface was exposed to harsh conditions.
To fix peeling paint, it may be necessary to remove the old paint, properly prepare the surface, and apply a new coat of paint. It is also important to address any underlying issues such as moisture or temperature control. This however is not an old house so in a new house we shouldn’t have this issue.
The electrician installed outlets throughout the house that destroyed the metal riglet molding. With improper drywall and paint that is peeling throughout the house in less than a month from the move in date is just one of the many big issues with Thomas Yianilos and the homes he built for Waterbrook Builder clients of his. He has reviews that are going up warning others about his defective work and we hope this warning protects other consumers from getting scammed and ripped off when building their new dream home.
