Waterloo Region COVID-19 vaccine distribution task force is disbanding

Waterloo Area says that because the job of getting space residents vaccinated towards COVID-19 shifts to the upkeep part, it’s disbanding the vaccine distribution process drive.

“We had been the primary area in Ontario to realize 80 per cent first-dose protection in all age teams, which demonstrates the dedication and keenness of our process drive members,” Regional Chair Karen Redman acknowledged.

“I need to take this chance to thank every member for an especially profitable rollout of vaccine that has seen 844,214 doses administered within the area up to now.”

The duty drive will wind down this week as 416,765 residents of Waterloo Area have now been absolutely vaccinated.

Which means that 70.77 per cent of space residents have now been vaccinated, a quantity which reaches 82.19 when solely together with those that are eligible to be vaccinated.

The area says that operations will proceed though Waterloo Regional Police Deputy Chief Shirley Hilton will transfer on from the duty drive as will different members, though Vickie Murray, director of pharmacy at Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s Basic Hospital, will proceed in her management function.
