New Zealand beat the West Indies by 50 runs in a rain-affected second ODI match between the sides at Kensington Oval, Barbados on Friday. With the visitors leading 0-1 in a three-match series, it was a much-needed win for them. Finn Allen was their star on game day as he scored 96 spot runs to make it 212 before he lost his grip. Meanwhile, Michael Bracewell also attracted the limelight, not because of his batting or bowling but because of a sensational catch he made during the game.
Bracewell was fighting in the middle of the match when the West Indies beat Brandon King Tim Southee delivery on his right. Kiwi’s all-rounder covered the ground well before performing a sensational dive to the right and catching a stunning catch. That of King was the third West Indies player to fall and his departure sent them reeling at 21 to 3 in 7.4 rounds.

Talking about the match, Southee and Trent Boult combined to beat the top West Indies team as New Zealand scored a series-leveling victory.
After Allen’s key hit for New Zealand, Southee and Boult claimed four and three goals respectively to keep the West Indies flying since the start of the second half. Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips also claim a wicket each to help the guest cause.
The parties next face each other for the ODI decision on August 21 at the same location. It is worth noting that New Zealand won the series of three T20I matches with a score of 2-1 played between the two sides against ODIs.
