What did you say?! Teen finds out that the anonymous cyber bully who has been harassing her for a year is her mother
The saying is often “be your child” but this Michigan mom definitely turned the script upside down!
It’s really your own person
After a year of fishing, it was revealed that this woman had molested two teenagers, one of whom was her daughter. According to The Mercury News, 42-year-old Kendra Gail Licari was charged earlier this week with two counts of stalking a minor, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and one count of obstruction of justice. The obstruction charges came after Licari allegedly tried to attribute the whole bullying mess to one of her daughter’s schoolmates.

Complaints about cyberbullying
The investigation began after Licari’s daughter and her then-boyfriend filed a cyberbullying complaint with Beal City School. Licari was also a basketball coach at the same school during the harassment complaint.
For months, Licari and the boy’s mother worked closely with the school in hopes of identifying the source of the harassment. Parents even pushed for help from law enforcement in January. She was accused of using software to conceal her location, creating a different identity, using teenage slang and adding some acronyms just to distract them.
The FBI jumped in and found the source
In mid-April, local law enforcement finally turned to the FBI’s computer crime division in hopes of resolving the situation. Luckily it didn’t take long. In May, officials reported back to Beal City’s director, William Chilman, that they believed they knew who was involved. Despite their efforts to block the location, the FBI was eventually able to track down the original IP address that led them directly to Licari.
What’s the cause?!
The family revealed to David Barberi, the Isabella County Prosecutor, that although the law was relevant in January, the harassing messages have been around since early 2021. Barberi said his office has collected a total of 349 text and social media harassment sites. After Licari confronted the FBI, she made a full confession, but it remains unclear why she initiated the harassment in the first place.
Licari was arrested Monday and later released on a $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear again in court on December 29.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?!
