Open gifts in the morning, watch games in the afternoon.
That’s what could happen for many NFL fans on Saturday as there will be double-ended action, starting with the Browns taking on the Packers and ending into the night with the Colts playing the Cardinals.
It was certainly an exciting day in the league, as all four teams played with high odds. While Aaron Rodgers and the Packers locked down the NFC North last Sunday with a win over Raven, they are still hunting for the No. 1 seed in NFC. The Browns, on the other hand, will have their first game against Baker Mayfield at centre-back as they hope to secure a win in a tough end-of-season game to continue their existence in the closely contested AFC North. .
One team with the Packers vying for the No. 1 spot is the Cardinals, who failed to support them last Sunday in their loss to the Lions. They are now behind Green Bay after losing two games in a row, including one against NFC rivals West Rams in Week 14. The road won’t be easier for them as they face the Colts, who coming out 27-17 victory over Patriots. Jonathan Taylor had another dominant game as he continued to make his MVP case, dashing 170 yards and scoring the winning goal to help Indianapolis win its seventh of the past nine competitions.
Sporting News has given you everything you need to know to watch the two games on Christmas Day.

History of NFL playing at Christmas
The NFL had its first Christmas doubles game on Saturday, December 25, 1971, when the Cowboys played the Vikings and the Dolphins played the Chiefs. The NFL only ran for 14 weeks that season, so those two games were knockouts of each division. The Cowboys, who went on to win the Super Bowl that year, beat the Vikings 20-12, while the Dolphins, the team the Cowboys beat, won 27-24 in injury time against the Chiefs. According to Pro Football Hall of Fame, it was the longest match in tournament history.
Since then, Pro Football Hall of Fame recorded an additional 21 games played at Christmas. The Cowboys have participated in five of those games, the most of any team, as they continue their record of appearing on television over the holidays. There have been three consecutive Christmas doubles from 2004 to 2006, and two consecutive sets in 2016 and 2017.
