After last week Nintendo Direct extravaganza, compared to this week, this week seems a little more relaxed. Because we prepared for upcoming weekend Splatfest (Go Team Fun!), we’ve taken time to recover from what’s become a great team of games to come.

On the consequences of Direct, we broke down everything that we know About Pikmin 4 (mainly because we can’t stop thinking about Miyamoto’s shirt) and also ruminating Square Enix’s Unbelievably Straight Release Schedule.

We also found time to review brand new title Shovel Knight Digionly one very happy with Golf Easy Come Easyand finally have our hands on classic shmup Radiant Silvergun – let’s just hope it hanging about all eShops this time.

Now, we’re all set for a weekend of gaming (Splatfest and otherwise) and some of our great writers have shared their plans below. We’d love to know what you’re up to, too, so be sure to leave a comment – once you’ve enjoyed our great words, of course! Happy reading!

So this weekend, I’ll stay at Bayonetta 2. I start it with Difficulty, so it will take me longer than I would like, but the increased intensity makes for a much more enjoyable experience, in my opinion! Either way, it definitely succeeded in getting me more excited about Bayonetta 3despite my nagging concern for a new sequel.

Elsewhere, I’m still trying Death Stranding; I’m really spending my time on it. I just got over that big slippery BT and met Higgs for the first time, so I haven’t gone far yet. I have also decided to start Assassin’s Creed Odyssey because obviously a huge open world isn’t enough for me. When will I learn…?

Alana Hagues, editor

I’m trying to get a bunch of smaller things done before I start traveling at the end of October – it’s hard to resist the allure of starting New Game Plus in The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zerobut i managed so far.

So this weekend, I’ll be back Chicory: A colorful story! I’m a lot more advanced than I was a few weeks ago and I’m really enjoying my time with this. I may have shed tears a few times – probably. I will also go check Beacon Pines because Winnie the Pooh met Double top possibly the best description of a video game ever. I also picked up Jack moves after enjoying the demo; a 10-hour RPG after a 50-hour game and a 150-hour game sounds much more appealing right now.

Okay, I’ll take a bite – this weekend will be dedicated to Splatoon 3. After weeks without a stable Wi-Fi connection, this will be my first time really Splatfest so I’m looking forward to finally diving into one of the series’ most prized features.

Besides all of this, I recently embarked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. With perfection Shredder’s Revenge Currently standing very high on my game of the year list, I’m excited to get some more classic turtle action with this collection. It hurts me to say, I really took part too Mario Strikers: Battle League this week. Hey, it’s fun and I will get to play more this weekend! (However, is it really harmful to just delay and release the entire game in one go?)

Gonçalo Lopes, reviewer

Even though the progress is steady, I’m not done yet Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I just keep stumbling across interesting things too delicious to ignore on my way. First Splatoon 3 Splatfest in progress (Team Gear FTW) but I’ll also need to keep up SD Gundam Battle Alliance while also not skipping the weekly classic gaming sessions powered by Taito EGRET II Mini.

Game of the week is Midnight Fight Express. It looks great in the trailer, the PC demo is consistent, and the final release is simply stellar. If you need to blow off steam after a week of work, this is the game to do it for.

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!
