According to the report, the new feature is in the early stages of development. So the company may take some time before rolling out this feature widely. However, the report did share some screenshots to show how the upcoming conversation will appear from the verified chatbot.
How will this new feature work
The report mentions that upon opening the chat, users will be able to see a message claiming to provide information about new features, tips and tricks for WhatsApp, along with privacy and safety information.

Furthermore, this official account will be different from a business account on WhatsApp as users will not be able to reply to any of these messages. As a read-only account, this chat will act as a mere notification system for WhatsApp to notify users of new features and updates being added to the platform.
The report also mentions that these messages will be end-to-end encrypted and that if users need WhatsApp support, they will have to contact the company through other means. Meanwhile, users can also choose to stop this conversation from appearing on their feed and will be allowed to block future messaging conversations.

As reported by Android Police, the chatbot feature is very similar to the one offered by rival messaging apps Telegram and Signal, where both platforms use an official channel to update users about new releases.
