“When you’re allowing sweat, why not salivate?”

Virat kohli‘s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma feel that the decision to ban the use saliva on the ball is unfair to the pitcher. According to Sharma, who is also the coach of Delhi team, since the game is heavily loaded with hitters, the bowlers deserve something their way.

Announcing the changes to the cricket rules, which will come into effect October 1, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) stated that the use of saliva, mints or sweets would be considered “anything any other unfair method of changing the condition of the ball”. The MCC statement reads:

“The new law will disallow the use of saliva on the ball, which also eliminates any gray areas of athletes eating sweets to change their saliva to apply to the ball.”

Reacting to the development, Sharma expressed disappointment. Share your thoughts about Khelneeti podcast, he said:

“The bowlers should be free. There are a lot of deadly race tracks where there is nothing for bowlers – no swings or turns. We were playing a Ranji Cup match in Guwahati and there was no support for the archers. “

Here are some major changes to the Cricket Laws made by the MCC, which will come into effect October 1, 2022. What do you think of the changes? 🤔#CricketTwitter https://t.co/R8jmH4NIMW

The 56-year-old added:

“If the bowler can smear some saliva and try to get it to spin backwards, that is also being stopped. It’s not something unfair and there’s no need to raise the issue as such. When you’re allowing perspiration, why not salivate? I don’t think saliva or mint makes a big difference. Even if the bowlers are getting a slight edge, it’s only fair to them.”

The use of mint or similar substances on balls has caused countless controversies in the past, even cricketers have been banned for the same.

“Sometimes the players go back to chewing gum after a break” – Saba Karim protests against saliva ban

Former India goalkeeper Saba Karim shares opposing views on the MCC’s saliva ban. According to him, the correct decision was made because so much controversy erupted from there. He further explained:

“It was the right decision. We have seen so many times that unwarranted controversies are created. Sometimes the players go back to chewing their gums after a break and then smearing saliva on the ball. It may not be intentional, but sometimes these things can become unavoidable. And in doing so, if the shape of the ball is changed and the pitchers are getting more help, it is against the rules of the game. “

Karim further points out:

“During the pandemic, saliva is prohibited. The technical committee analyzed that saliva did not provide any additional advantages so it was unnecessary. You can use sweat to polish. ”

In addition to banning saliva, MCC also decided to remove the stigma surrounding ‘Mankading’. It clarifies that a hitter sent off the pitch not by a striker for leaving a fold too soon is a legal form of dismissal.
