White Woman Susan Lorincz Admitted Using Slurs, Cops Say

The White Florida woman accused of murdering a black mother Police said in front of her children admitted to having called the family racial slurs in the past.

Susan Lorincz also allegedly claimed she acted in self-defense and purchased the gun used in the shooting following an earlier clash with the mother-of-four Ajike Owens.

Lorincz was arrested on Tuesday and charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting Owens, 35, through a locked door on Friday after Owens went to Lorincz’s home to confront her for molesting Owens’ children.

According to an arrest affidavit provided to The Daily Beast, Lorincz told police officers in an interview on Saturday that she had been having issues with Owens’ sons for two years. because they don’t respect her peace and privacy.” Lorincz asserts Isaac, Israel, and Titus—who were later identified by their grandmothers Pamela Dias—always plays in the common area outside her apartment. Lorincz testified that when she told the children that they had trespassed in the past, they said they would kill her.

On Friday night, Lorincz complained again about Owens’ kids playing on the lawn near her apartment in Ocala. She took one of the children’s iPads, then threw skates at one and swung an umbrella at another as they tried to grab it, authorities said.

According to the affidavit, the children left to see their mother, and Owens allegedly banged on Lorincz’s bolted door. Lorincz testified that Owens yelled, “You don’t talk to my sons, I’ll kill you!”

However, police said they spoke to neighbors, who said they had never heard Owens make any threats about killing anyone.

Lorincz told Marion County police she went into her bedroom to retrieve a Remington 380 she bought a year ago to protect herself from Owens. Lorincz said she “paniced” after grabbing the gun and firing one shot through the front door, the affidavit said.

“[Lorincz] advised that she was just scared for her life and was thinking ‘Go, get out of this situation, get out of here,'” according to the affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She stated that she felt her life was in danger.

After speaking with neighbors and witnesses, many of whom described Lorincz as a dissident who regularly harassed children in the area and called them racial slurs, police moved forward. conducted a second interview with Lorincz on Tuesday.

“Lorincz admitted to using the n-word against children in the past out of anger and also to refer to children with other derogatory terms,” the investigators wrote in the affidavit.

Although Owens and Lorincz allegedly had a fractious relationship, Lorincz admitted to police that Owens had never actually threatened violence during previous clashes. However, she alleges Owens threatened to kill her during Friday’s deadly encounter.

Lorincz is being held at the Marion County Jail without bond.
