About 2,700 leaders from 130 countries, including 52 heads of state and government, will attend the annual meeting in Davos.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) The 2023 Annual Meeting will take place from January 16 to 20 in Davos, Switzerland.

The event brings together leaders from government, business and civil society to address the state of the world and discuss priorities for the coming year.

Founded in 1971 by German economist Klaus Schwab, the meeting was originally known as the European Management Forum, until its name changed in 1987.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is the only G7 leader scheduled to attend the event. On Sunday, spokesman for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the leader will not attend the event due to the ongoing energy crisis in the country.
