Who said that?! Pusha T & Metro Boomin Vent About Fan Butchering Lyrics
Pusha T and Metro Boomin took to social media to share an important message: stop misquoting their songs!
Pusha T: ‘We need to talk’
On Friday, Pusha T responded to a tweet highlighting his success Almost dry album. The project returned in April and features big names like Kanye West, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Uzi Vert and Don Toliver.
In response to the call, Pusha T stated that his ranking would have been higher if it weren’t for “so many incorrect interpretations of the lyrics”.
“Appreciate the ranking…but there are so many incorrect interpretations of the lyrics, we need to have a talk…understanding can boost my ranking.”

Metro Boomin shows similar sentiments
Just hours before Pusha T’s tweet, Boomin subway talked about the same topic.
He specifically talked a bit about how some people have misunderstood the lyrics of “Metro Spider”, when Young Thug rapping “Metro bought me a painting from Basel” was mistaken for “Metro bought me a pink front bezel”.
Metro added that his frustration stems from spending “hours typing out lyrics” only to have people still misinterpret them.
I spent hours typing out the lyrics for each song so you all have the correct info and someone in the office somewhere STILL managed to upload the wrong shit smh wtf is pink front border 😡😡😡🤬

He went on to share another example of the lyrics misheard from “Feel The Fiyaaaah.” While Takeoff rapped “No sleep, X out the Z’s”, this was mistaken for “sick as soon as possible”.
Exact lyrics should be up for all songs now. Take rapped AZ’s best and said “No sleep, X out the Z’s”, not “sick as soon as possible” pic.twitter.com/ykCJu8Jlua

Finally, Metro Boomin added that, by mistake, “the kids [are] here create thousands of TikToks with wrong lyrics.
They brought the kids out here making thousands of tik tok with the wrong lyrics

Nicki Minaj talked about this a long time ago because of the explosive genius
At this point we should add that Nicki Minaj has also been on the subject of misquoting lyrics on social media throughout the years.
Back in 2018, she humorously explained the words of her hook in “Chun-Li”, as many people confused them.
I was NORTH ️ [up]

I see all you say in there. I was like 🤔 Genius got it wrong. I’m definitely talking North; but in that NY accent, it sounds more like NORF. https://t.co/bF6pyMfuih

Even if we take a closer look, we can see that Nicki doesn’t mind calling Genius’ lyrics wrong.
Sorry. The genius lyrics are sooooo wrong. Editing right now. #SkrtOnMe
