Who will win the 2nd T20I?
The second and final match of the T20I series between Scotland and New Zealand will be played on 29 July at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh. New Zealand currently leads the series with a score of 1-0 and the Scottish side need to win to get the series even.
It was a solid performance from Kiwi as they won their first all-out T20I to take a 1-0 lead in a two-game series. After being asked to hit first, New Zealand posted 225 across the board in their 20 passes, thanks to their first ton of T20I from Finn Allen.
New Zealand lost five players in the process as Scottish bowlers joined the journey in the opening game of the series.
Their players also faltered in the chase as none of them advanced and a lack of cooperation left them with only 157 at the end of their 20 rounds, losing the match with 68 runs.
The Kiwis picked up eight wicks, with Ish Sodhi complete with four sockets.
The Scottish team needs to open fire in unison to get a balanced series of matches. They fell short in the first T20I and will have a much improved performance in front of their home audience in the second T20I.
New Zealand, meanwhile, will be looking to repeat the performance and complete a clean sweep.
Can Scotland (SCO) beat New Zealand (NZ)?
Richie Berrington didn’t get off to a good start in his captaincy career when they lost heavily to New Zealand in their first T20I match. The bowlers failed to pick up the wickets and as a result failed to create pressure when the Kiwi posted a total score on the chessboard as a mammoth.
In the end it was too much and Scotland was completely defeated. They will have to be in top shape to complete the series with a high score.
New Zealand does not have regular players but proved too strong compared to the home team. Finn Allen was fantastic with the stick and the bowlers then assisted their hitter, with Ish Sodhi leading from the front.
They look like a solid squad and their experience will play an important role for them in the face of a dwindling Scotland. Expect New Zealand to whitewash Scotland by winning the T20I final on Friday.
Prediction: New Zealand (NZ) will win this encounter.
