Why have record numbers of people been leaving Cuba? | TV Shows
Most have come to the United States via the border with Mexico, along with thousands from other countries.
Cuba saw the largest exodus of people last year since Fidel Castro’s revolution in the 1950s.
It has become a political crisis for the United States and President Joe Biden has announced new measures.
More visas will be issued to some people traveling through official channels, but those who have just turned up at the border will face harsher action.
So what caused this mass exodus?
And could conditions change for the Cuban people?
