Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins quietly ranks near the top of the NFL in several passing categories, but his name is rarely mentioned in the league’s MVP discussions.
NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt strongly disagrees with that view, enthusiastically making a pretty convincing case for cousins to garner more affection in MVP talks.
“Mid-season cousins are setting an NFL record for fourth-quarter comebacks,” Brandt stated in a recent episode of “Good Morning Football”. “Cousin’s fourth-quarter stats are phenomenal. Kirk’s cousin have fewer interceptions than Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. …No quarterback in the last 20 years has been hit more than Cousins, but he is 12-3, his wide receiver (top) on track to break Megatron’s (receive) record.
“Justin Jefferson is an outstanding player, so is Davante Adams. The last few years the MVP has been awarded to Aaron Rodgers as if it were no big deal. …Let’s welcome Cousins with fresh eyes on Owner. When quarterbacks really show who they are, you won’t see a better quarterback in the entire NFL in the most important moments.
