William Shatner’s sci-fi franchise ‘TekWar’ to be resurrected as animated series

William Shatner’s Canadian science-fiction franchise “TekWar” is being redeveloped for tv as an animated collection for adults.

Los Angeles-based Pure Creativeness Studios says it has struck a cope with the “Star Trek” actor’s firm Shatner Universe to resurrect the Nineties franchise, which began as a guide collection earlier than it was spun off into TV motion pictures, a collection, comedian books and a online game.

The storyline is ready in 2043 and follows an L.A. detective who’s framed as a vendor of an addictive mind-altering drug that is administered within the type of a bio-digital microchip.

Producers say the collection is being envisioned as a “mixed-reality” program the place viewers can watch the standalone present or take part in a “real-time multiverse” that includes different layers of the storyline on cell, tablets and wearable gadgets.

Matt Michnovetz, who’s labored as a author on “24” and varied “Star Wars” animated packages, will develop and write “TekWar.”

The unique “TekWar” TV collection filmed in Toronto and aired on CTV in Canada from 1994 to 1996.
