WEST HOLLYWOOD, California –
Authorities say former NFL linebacker Willie McGinest Jr. was arrested Monday in connection with an assault at a Southern California nightclub.
The incident happened on December 9 at a club in West Hollywood, and witnesses have identified McGinest as one of those involved, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
McGinest was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after going to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station to report the incident.
He was bonded and released, the sheriff’s statement said. It is not known if he has an attorney to comment on the allegations.
McGinest spent 15 years in the NFL with New England and Cleveland after playing college football at the University of Southern California.
