Wine or Burger: Which has more calories?

It concluded that not only are there huge differences in sugar and calories across different types of alcohol, but consumers are being “hidden” about what they are drinking because vital information is missing from most labels. .

The report said consumer information was “shockingly incomplete”.

Government guidelines recommend that adults consume no more than 30g of free sugar per day. AHA research shows that almost all of this money can be achieved by drinking two moderate glasses of wine.

But it’s not just the high sugar content – research has shown that just two glasses of moderate-calorie wine analyzed contain more calories than a McDonald’s burger.

The AHA’s analysis found that the most sugary wines were the lowest alcohol, while the high-calorie wines tended to be higher alcohol drinks.

There is no legal requirement to display sugar on wine labels, the report says, with drinkers likely to opt for a lower alcohol content thinking it’s a healthier option – but may unintentionally increased their daily sugar intake, the report said.

None of the 30 products examined in the study displayed sugar content on their labels – mandatory information for all non-alcoholic beverages.

Calorie content was shown on only 20 percent of the labels tested.
