SACRAMENTO – Austin Patterson, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting quarterback, will move from Wofford to play at Sacramento State, freshman head coach David Patrick has announced. Patterson, who played two seasons for the Terrier, will have three years of qualifying to wear the Sacramento State uniform.
A native of Sonora, California, Patterson is the seventh signing of Patrick, who just took office as the Sacramento State head coach on April 5.

• Appeared in 48 games over the past two seasons (2020-22) for Wofford, a Div. I’m from Spartanburg, SC, and a member of the Southern Conference.
• Played all 32 games (10 starts) a year ago for a Wofford team that finished 19-13 overall and 10-8 in the league.
• Averaged 6.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 23.6 minutes per game last season.
• Shoot 45% (42-eat-94) from 3-point line, connect on multiple 3-pointers in 14 contests. Overall, he shoots 47% long.
• Started 10 of the last 11 games of the season, averaging 29.6 minutes in that span.
• Doubled seven times, including 20 career best points (5/6 from 3FG) against Kennesaw State.
• In his first season (2020-21) at Wofford, he played 16 games, averaging 1.5 points and 8.6 minutes per game.
• A 2020 graduate of Sonora High, where he holds the program record for most points in a game (48).
• As a senior, he was named State DIII Player, Modesto Bee Player of the Year and Mother Lode League MVP after averaging 23.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists assists and 2.7 steals while shooting 55% away.
• Also named MVP of the league as a base.
• During his final two seasons with the Wildcats, he captained the team to a pair of Sac-Joaquin Section championships, two Mother Load League titles and a 55-9 aggregate record.
• Having athletic talent in the bloodline. Father, Scot, played college basketball at Fresno Pacific and professionally in Australia. Mother, Heidi, played college volleyball at Oregon State and Fresno Pacific.
