Woman charged with animal murder and torture after finding dead dog in rental home
SHIAWASSEE CO., Mich. (WNEM) – A Shiawassee County woman has been charged with two counts of killing and torturing animals after two dogs were found dead in a rental home.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of animal abuse in December 2021. A county deputy animal control officer was informed that two dead dogs were found in a mansion in Bancroft, according to the sheriff’s office.
The complainants said they were renting and went to check the room had a very unpleasant smell. The sheriff’s office said the room was padlocked and residents had to break into the room to investigate the smell. Inside the room, they found two dead dogs in a state of severe decomposition, according to the sheriff’s office.
Delegates believe that one of the dogs was partially eaten by the other. The sheriff’s office said both dogs died the summer before the tenants moved in.
The dog’s owner, Jordan Hoisington, has been charged with two counts of killing and torturing animals. She was sorted on March 1. Her bond is set at $7,500.
A deputy minister said it was one of the worst cases of animal cruelty they had investigated.
