Woman killed in Manitoba highway crash involving alleged impaired driver – Winnipeg


An 87-year-old lady was killed Monday night time in a two-vehicle crash within the RM of St. Clements.

Selkirk RCMP have been referred to as to the intersection of Freeway 44 and Provincial Highway 206 round 7:15 p.m.

Police mentioned their investigation has decided that the girl’s car, headed north on PR 206, was stopped on the intersection and hit by an eastbound pickup truck when she proceeded onto the freeway. She was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

The motive force of the pickup, a 62-year-old man, was arrested on the scene and charged with impaired driving inflicting dying.

He was taken to hospital for minor accidents, and has since been launched, with a pending courtroom look scheduled for Dec. 17 in Selkirk.
