Woman who posed as inspector to steal from Toronto long-term care home arrested: police – Toronto
Police have confirmed the arrest of a 39-year-old woman accused of fraudulently entering Toronto long-term care home to steal debit and credit cards.
Based on Toronto PoliceOn April 30, a woman entered a long-term care facility and said she was a government employee checking the scene.
Police said she went through the long-term care home and retrieved a wallet containing debit and credit cards. Then she went to “different” stores and spent the money with the card.
On May 5, police released photos of the suspect and asked for public support.
Police confirmed Sunday that they had arrested a 39-year-old woman with no fixed address.
Mandy Kitlar-Akeia faces several counts, including two counts of breaking and entering and five counts of theft under $5,000.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Toronto on Sunday.
