Woman’s Severed Head, Pelvis Found in Romantic Paris Park on Valentine’s Day

According to local police, a woman’s severed head and other miscellaneous body parts were discovered in Paris’ picturesque Buttes-Chaumont park a day after gardeners pruned the tree. there discovered a woman’s pelvis in a plastic bag.

The discovery of the pelvis on Monday led to the closure of the entire 60-acre park, known for its scenic walking trails and winding river. Later, police sent sniffer dogs to find more human remains, including a woman’s head and what is now only described as “other” body parts.

Police have not said whether the remains are from the same woman or from multiple victims, but only mentioned one female victim during press conferences.

A murder investigation has been opened and surveillance video in and around the park has been collected. The Paris prosecutor’s office said forensic tests were underway on the remains and DNA evidence would be examined against reports of missing persons. quote told Le Monde.

Paris police on Tuesday said they have not yet dated the remains, nor have they said when they believe the victim or the victims were killed.
