World of Warcraft fans celebrate their favorite faction with #MightofNightElves

Night Elves have been a part of Warcraft universe since Warcraft 3, and they are the source of all kinds of elves. They are one of the most popular factions in World of Warcraftand they have a rich history and lots of lore for fans to learn and discover. But this faction has also been brutally dealt with over the years, as civilization has struggled to maintain a home in the tumultuous world of Azeroth.

With Dragonflight Expansion is currently in alpha, fans are hoping for a better ending for the Dark Elves. But the text was recently data-mined from Dragonflight alpha sent ripples through the fandom, as it suggested there could be more tragedy ahead. Detail Malfurion Stormrage can be loaded onto a metaphysical bus to Shadowlands, separate him – again! – from his love, Tyrande Whisperwind. The two haven’t had much peace or actual character development together – and they probably won’t, if the story is currently on the testing ground.

Of course, the story is subject to change; because it’s in alpha, nothing is set in stone. And a group of die-hard fans have taken to social media to share their love for the Dark Elves in the hope that they can help light a brighter path for their beloved characters.

Ammatice, a Russian artist, started #MightofNightElves on Twitter in an attempt to rally support for the faction. And fans used the hashtag to share impressive fan art and cosplay. “I started playing again in 2008 when my brother set up Burning Crusade expanded,” Ammatice told Polygon via Twitter message. “I still remember that moment when I saw Teldrassil with music playing in the background.”

Ammatice was drawn to the beautiful elves and their magical forest creatures, and that inspired her to create the faction’s fan art. “It was amazing how the Night Elves included different ideas,” she said. “Architecture and lifestyle combine both ancient Greek and Asian styles, the cult of Goddesses and Nature, an Amazon-like army of the Sentinels, special detachments of the Wardens, haunted nobles imaged by magic and power. So many great, sometimes contradictory, ideas that come together perfectly.”

Drekky, a Russian artist and Night Elf fan, also shares their appreciation for Polygon. “Meet the Dark Elves in Warcraft 3 made me fall in love with them instantly! ‘ they said via Twitter message. “They combine everything I love about fantasy races, with their exotic forests, a mixture of mystical and magical magic, and an interesting matriarchal society, which I don’t. never expected to see at that time. I spent hours and hours playing Night Elves in those days, playing my own RP scenarios of the glorious Kaldorei and their animal friends. “

For these fans, check out the Night Elves story so far World of Warcraft There were highs and lows. Burning of Teldrassil is a pathetic low; Story events include the genocide of the Night Elves and the torch of their World Tree house, and it is largely depicted through the eyes of the perpetrators. There is no real justice for Teldrassil, and my recent data suggests that Night Elves are likely to experience more losses in the future. While all alpha content is subject to change, some players are pessimistic.

Lemongrace, an artist and player in the World of Warcraft community said: “Shadowlands left unfinished with its renewal note, and that’s where I expect the story to go – a time of peace and recovery for kind of nocturnal elf,” said Lemongrace, an artist and player in the World of Warcraft community. “Instead, we were almost mocked with more losses. Legion was when night elves content reached its zenith for me, and while some of the decisions made back then were long discussed in the night elf community, I still think it was a treatment to play through it as an elf [Night Elf] player. To say it’s gone downhill from there, put it kindly. “

“I want Blizzard to appreciate this strange race of wild and magical matriarchs, full of different cultures and love for nature that has attracted so many gay people. , women and POC!” Drekky wrote. “I want Blizzard to love and cherish them, sharing some of that love in the game ever since Warcraft III. “

Lem Lemon and others who are sharing the artwork through #MightofNightElves, agree. As she puts it, “Many of the nocturnal goblin players I’ve met throughout my journey in WoW are some of the most passionate with deep connections to their characters and stories, and that the race they created has inspired so many creations that work and fascinate people for years – this is what I love about the dark elves and the elves community. I just wish that they would share this passion with us and listen to feedback on the direction of the story.”
