Assertion from Steve Simon, WTA Chairman & CEO

“The latest occasions in China regarding a WTA participant, Peng Shuai, are of deep concern. As a company devoted to ladies, we stay dedicated to the ideas we have been based on – equality, alternative and respect.

Peng Shuai, and all ladies, need to be heard, not censored. Her accusation in regards to the conduct of a former Chinese language chief involving a sexual assault have to be handled with the utmost seriousness. In all societies, the conduct she alleges that came about must be investigated, not condoned or ignored. We commend Peng Shuai for her exceptional braveness and power in coming ahead. Ladies all over the world are discovering their voices so injustices may be corrected.

We anticipate this difficulty to be dealt with correctly, which means the allegations have to be investigated totally, pretty, transparently and with out censorship.

Our absolute and unwavering precedence is the well being and security of our gamers. We’re talking out so justice may be performed.”
