Sri Lanka completed a massive 246 runs victory in the 2nd test match against Pakistan to draw the two matches 1-1. Pakistan chased a huge total in the fourth inning to win the First Test but it wasn’t this time as a Lankan spinner Prabath Jayasuriya Pick up 5 points in the second inning. Ramesh Mendis ended the match with 9 goals, 1 more than Jayasuriya.

It was a dominant performance by the home team with both bat and ball, which sent them back to third place on the World Test Championship scoreboard.

In the updated Test Championship scoreboard, The Lankans fell back to third place with 53.33 percentage points. India ranked fourth with 52.08 points, while Pakistan dropped to fifth place with 51.85 percentage points.

South Africa and Australia continue to hold first and second place respectively, and will meet in the final of the second cycle of the World Test Championship next year.

Sri Lanka’s win was a big boost for the team as they have now managed to bounce back from the loss to draw a series in two head-to-head matches. They beat Australia on the 2nd test of that series to draw 1-1, before repeating it against Pakistan.

Babar Azam once again a leading light for Pakistanis. The team’s over-reliance on the captain for runs is becoming a problem these days, especially since Mohammad Rizwan is unable to make regular appearances in red-ball cricket.
