Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase Requiem Feature With New Game Trailer
A Plague Tale: Requiem is one of the most anticipated games of 2022 that will continue the story of Amicia and Hugo, who players met in A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase, part of the ongoing 2022 Summer Game Festival, presents a brand new gameplay snippet about next partwith Amicia in the act of violence.
A Plague Tale: Innocence comes out in 2019 and is set in medieval France during the Hundred Years’ War. The player follows the trials and tribulations of two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, as they face a world torn apart by the Black Death.
The game’s story and mechanics received rave reviews, and made players eagerly await the sequel.
A Plague Tale: Requiem will have a much more violent Amicia
Like game trailer of The title, End of Innocence, states that the game is set to mark Amicia becoming more violent as she ignores others telling her not to kill.
The clip continues to show her ruthlessly taking down one enemy after another, saying: “Tired of fear”. She goes so far as to push one soldier into a crowd of rats and suffocate another while saying they have nothing to fear.
This is a significant change from the main character that the player knew in the first game. There’s a consistency in her voice, the way she swings her sword, and on her arrows (yes, she carries a crossbow now). But similar to her first murder in Innocence, there’s a good chance her violent behavior will have consequences for her.
The trailer ends with Amicia asking Hugo to “do it, hurry up.” Hugo raised his fist and hugged the ground as the screen went dark. The next frame shows a screen dyed yellow as the camera follows a swarm of rats rushing towards the target, possibly meaning the player will have some ability to call and control plague carriers.
The official description for the game says that players will embark on a heartbreaking journey into a brutal, breathtaking world, while discovering the cost of saving those they love. Players will be able to attack Amicia from the shadows or go head-to-head with “a variety of weapons, tools, and unparalleled powers.”
The trailer at The Game Awards 2021 showed off the different landscapes that players will explore. The Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase trailer does the same, featuring a look at both urban and rural landscapes.
Those who have enjoyed the previous journey of Amicia and Hugo are sure to embark on another heart-pounding adventure with a story that will resonate just like its predecessor. The game will launch in 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S (Day One on Game Pass), PC and Nintendo Switch.
