Xiaomi 12S allegedly leaked images, said to be the first smartphone from the Leica branded brand

Xiaomi announced a tie-up with German camera maker Leica on Monday. It is speculated that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the first photography flagship jointly developed by Xiaomi and Leica, which is expected to officially launch in July this year. However, a new photo allegedly of the upcoming Xiaomi 12S has leaked online with Leica branding on its camera module. The image suggests that the Xiaomi 12S series could be the first smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer to feature Leica camera technology.

A tipper seems to have leaked a Picture on Weibo, showing accused people Xiaomi 12S carries the Leica branding on its camera module, as mentioned above. Moreover, Leica Previously collaborated with Huawei, Panasonic and Sharp. Recently, Xiaomi yes announced long-term strategic partnership with Leica to jointly develop camera technology for the company’s upcoming flagship smartphones.

The Xiaomi 12S series is said to include two models: Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro. Smartphones are said to be in development and are speak to hit markets with smaller screens than other models in the Xiaomi 12 series.

Xiaomi 12S series specifications (expected)

The Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are said to feature a full-HD+ flexible curved display with a single hole in the middle along with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phones in this line are also expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera. The camera is said to come with a new hardware-grade algorithm, possibly from a Leica collaboration. Xiaomi 12S series is said to have SM8475 processor, which is Snapdragon 8 Generation 1+ SoC.

Xiaomi 12S series coming soon were detected on the IMEI database last month. The listing does not reveal many details about these smartphones. However, the Xiaomi 12S models are expected to have slightly upgraded features compared to the standard models. Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro carry model number 2206123SC and shortened model number L3S, and 2206122SC and shortened model number L2S, respectively. These phones are also speculated to have the codename “diving” for the Xiaomi 12S and “unicorn” for the Xiaomi 12S Pro.
