An interesting part of yellow jacket has been all speculation surrounding its many fascinating, harrowing mysteries. The show focuses on one core question: How do these teenagers escape the Canadian tundra? Each episode gives fans a new clue to learn—as well as new questions to start asking themselves. It has all led to an avid fanbase in places like Reddit, where viewers have been sharing their various theories since the film first premiered in December 2021.
Sometimes these theories are completely out of the left field, achieving the craziest possible answer to every question. Sometimes they sound incredible – which is super exciting, because it’s great to see someone proven right. The show’s actors and creators got into the whole shebang theory, discussing them in interviewwhile yellow jacket Instagram page even put forward some of the most intriguing theories in his own posts.
In prediction for Season 2-the first episode of which dropped while streaming on March 24, ahead of its March 26 premiere on Showtime itself — we’ve rounded up some of our favorite theories from yellow jacket annex and evaluate them based on their reasonableness. For us, that means the possibility of them coming true throughout the show, whether in Season 2 or later in the series.

This theory may not have much to do with how the plot was developed (or so we think), but it certainly deepens the lore of the series. In the pilot episode, we see the Yellowjackets hunting and trapping one of them, who is wearing a white nightgown when she falls into a pit full of thorns. The tight frame of Jackie’s necklace makes viewers think that Jackie is the one being hunted.
Well, high school’s Queen Bee is currently frozen in the Canadian tundra, and we know that she’s neither the hunted girl nor the Antler Queen. But since the person in the pit is wearing Laura Lee’s nightgown and Jackie’s necklace, it looks like Queen Antler *cough* Lottie (we think so!) *cough* may force their tributes to wear the emblems of the group’s former victims. What these tokens mean for the team is still unclear, but we’ll likely find out by the end of Season 2. Really, this is cruel. It’s like wrapping a cow in a leather blanket before taking it to the slaughterhouse. Sure, these girls are hungry, wild, and about to go crazy. But my goodness, a little clever! 10/10 reliability.
This is very likely to happen, and it’s a clever way of capturing viewers. In shows like yellow jacket, writers plant so many seeds by chance that audiences often don’t notice. Of course, with a devoted fan base like this one, everything is under a magnifying glass. Given that winter has hit the chalet and Coach Ben’s loss of a leg makes him an exterminable target for meat-hungry high school students, it’s unlikely he’ll live. survive until the group is rescued. Other than that, it’s just an easy way for writers to introduce a new character with a new motive in the show’s later part—sometimes they’d be almost stupid not to act on it. Reasonableness: 9/10.
consider yellow jacket slated to run for five seasons, I’m not sure we’ll find out if this theory holds true in Season 2. But I think it’s an interesting thing to think about no matter what!
In case you forgot, the opening scene of the entire series is where an unnamed girl runs through the woods, apparently being chased. She is wearing Jackie’s gold heart necklace and a nightgown. Her leg is bleeding. We don’t know what happened, who she is, or why she’s running—and before we’ve really had time to ask ourselves these questions, the so-called ‘throw girl’ pit” fell and died instantly.
From there, the survivors (we only see Misty; the rest are obscured) hang her, suck her blood, and then cook her. Then our little cannibals will celebrate their dead delicious friend. No wonder people call this a teen cannibal show!
The idea that this is the final murder is intriguing, in part because it serves as the show’s gripping supernatural element. If the girls think they’re sacrificing their friend to a supposed forest spirit not only for food but also for luck, that’s a fun way to prove the whole mystery that program is going on. It’s also a shocking way to end their time in the woods—the group commits their most terrifying murder to survive, just as they’re about to be sent home. We dig it and we support it! Reasonableness: 9/10.
Here’s another that relies on sticking to the one-time mention from Season 1. So it looks like it could show up in Season 2 or beyond. Using basic math, we can infer that Shauna and Jeff’s daughter, Callie, is not the child Shauna was pregnant with in the woods. The show’s first season is set in 2021, while the Yellowjackets go missing in 1996. That would make Callie 25 and we know that, on the show, she’s still in high school.
This means something is bound to happen with Shauna’s first pregnancy. Given that the supernatural elements of yellow jacket will intensify in Season 2 (to the dismay of some fans—and to our jubilation), it’s not too far off when we might see a Rosemary’s Baby-esque fate is implemented here. Sure, that’s unfortunate. But ask yourself what’s better: A baby possessed by a demon, or campers eating babies? Nothing good can come from this. Reasonableness: 8/10.
Much of the plot in the show’s 1996 timeline is about whether or not Travis’ younger brother Javi is still alive. He disappeared in a plane crash—and considering he’s never seen in the current timeline, and the fact that they’re all trapped in some kind of cold winter, the possibility The chance that he is still alive is very slim.
But this theory supports our girl Lottie’s theory, that Javi is still alive. Lottie could feel his presence, or so she claimed; Her insistence is both convincing and encouraging to Travis, who certainly doesn’t want his brother dead. But it’s hard to tell if Lottie is full of it, since her supernatural powers are supernatural. The fact that Javi is dead, but I think yellow jacket able and willing to surprise us by taking a more subversive path. In addition, the idea that something demonstrating Lottie’s ability to sense and predict the future might divide the group of survivors meant a lot to us—whether that involved Javi or something else entirely. Reasonableness: 7.5/10.
While that’s certainly an interesting theory, it would have required the show’s screenwriters to draw up a plan for the entire series for Craig Wedren and Anna Waronker, who wrote and recorded “No return.” we know from an interview told Showtime’s President of Entertainment that the show’s creators, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, had yet to give the second season’s backstory to moderators before the end of Season 1. Furthermore, Wedren and Waronker confirm to pitchfork that the lyrics of the song were written very quickly, following a heavy stream of consciousness to convey the show’s ’90s setting. So while this is a solid detective work, it’s a very loose theory and doesn’t carry much weight. Theme is just a good, old headbanger! Accuracy: 2/10.
We love how this Redditor’s mind works. The theory here is that the program throws us in a loop by doing the impossible: keep this baby alive, despite being born in literally the worst possible circumstances.
Shauna already has a daughter in the current timeline, annoying teenage Callie, but we know that she’s not a jungle-born child; she’s 16 years old in the current timeline, which means she was born in the early 2000s. But what if Shauna (and Jeff) had a full grown child running around somewhere out there. , do not know who their biological parents are and even where they were born? It would be hilarious to find out that the baby born even though his mother was eating mushrooms, surviving the freezing cold, and probably eating her friends was the most well-adjusted member of the cast. performer.
