Former goalkeeper Parthiv Patel supported Team Indiatry a part-time job Deepak Hooda is the sixth bowling pick in Second T20I against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui on Sunday, November 20, Patel pointed out that the only way India can tell if he is good enough for the role is to give him a few tries in international matches. .

Hooda registered impressive numbers of 4/10 in 2.5 passes during the T20I with the Kiwis on Sunday. Three of his four scalp throws were by those with tails, coming in at 19th in the New Zealand chase.

While acknowledging it was impossible to read too much of his batting, Patel praised captain Hardik Pandya for giving Hooda the chance to make his mark. Speaking in a discussion on Cricbuzz, the former athlete of Indian origin said:

“If someone is capable of bowling, the only way you can detect it is to give him those skills in international matches. That’s exactly what Hardik Pandya did with Hooda.

“We know that Hooda was in the squad for the World Cup because of his scoring ability. But he was unsuccessful in a single game he played. It’s not necessary, but you have to give him a few voiceovers to see if he’s good enough to give you a few or at least one.

The 37-year-old adds that the Indian consulting organization seems to be on the right track with its bowling plans. He further explained:

“They are thinking positive, thinking evil. This is very important in T20 format. It’s great to see us moving forward, thinking forward.”

Before that, Hooda was sent off without scoring and died because of the yellow duck. This is his second straight score of 0. He is the second racket to fall in Tim Southee’s final hat-trick.

“Want to see Umran Malik play against New Zealanders” – Patel suggests changes for the 3rd T20I

A 1-0 lead in a three-match series, Team India will be keen to end the game by winning the third game at Napier on Tuesday, November 22.

When asked if he would like to see any changes to the Blues Team for the next game, Patel replied:

“I want to see Umran Malik play against the New Zealanders. They are a quality party. Another question is – did you see Bhuvneshwar Kumar competing at the T20 2024 World Cup? If you’re trying to build a team for that World Cup, this is a step in the right direction – Umran has a game.”

Bhuvneshwar, who is preferred over Umran in the typical squad for Sunday’s encounter, impressed with a 1/12 figure from three rounds. Umran played three T20Is for India, winning two goals with an average of 56 and an economy rate of 12.44.
