A video game developer in UKRAINIAN has launched a contest for the winners to send their messages to Putin on the cartridges that will be used to shoot the Russians.
Frogwares, known for horror and mystery games like Sherlock Holmes, are using a controversial scheme to raise funds for their latest project.
The developers recruited the help of Ukrainian defenders of the 24th Ranger Battalion fighting Putin’s army.
The victory message will be written on the shell of a 152mm howitzer used to shoot down the Russians.
The message can be anything you want, but with our team’s approval, the company said.
“Each winner will receive a snapshot of their message on a cartridge case, proudly presented by our military.”
In one video, Ukrainian soldiers can be seen next to a shell with the words “your message here” written on it.
The developers invited their fans to participate by liking and retweeting their messages, with three winners to be chosen.
But while some supported Frogwares, others criticized the company for its “sick” contest.
One person wrote: “Tell me this is a joke? This is not used to kill people and MAIM is likely?
Another said: “Reported for inciting dangerous activities. The message of this tweet is really bad. Glorifying war through video games.”
A third added: “I’ve been supporting your game for years now. But after this… I can’t. It’s not a joke.
“Games have always been something to bring together people of different nationalities, perspectives and upbringings. What you’re trying to do is just sick.”
However, some supported Frogwares and praised the competition.
One person wrote: “Thanks for your support Frogwares! Some people think they are ‘above the war and too moral to ‘support war'”.
“But it is in support of the right to defend, the right to exist and the right to fight for independence. And yes, democracy should use weapons against aggressors.”
Another said: “Love seeing my messages on it.”
It comes as Putin continues to push for his faltering invasion – more than six months after the tyrant ordered his troops into Ukraine.
In recent days, Ukraine has penetrated Russia’s first line of defense in a spectacular counterattack in the key occupied area.
The forces launched a major offensive in the area south of Kherson, captured at the outset of the invasion.
Footage then emerged of a Russian tank being shelled in Kharkiv in the north.
The push is part of a long-awaited fight launched by leaders in Kyiv to retake the south of the country.
It comes after weeks of Ukrainian attacks aimed at cutting off Russian forces there from major supply routes.
