Another YouTuber who specializes in creating covers and remixing classic Nintendo hits has announced his abandonment of the activity after Nintendo’s lawyers called to request the removal of nine videos.

SynaMaxwho has a total of 6.88k subscribers, posted a video on his channel addressing the matter, saying that an attorney representing Nintendo called him on May 31 and asked him to take down nine videos related to Metroid Prime from channel.

“I’m really disappointed in Nintendo when they forced me to take these videos down because they wanted a mandatory license. I think it’s important to point out that this only applies to Nintendo copyrighted music; video My research on music from Metroid Prime as well as music done in the style of Kenji Yamamoto, those are fine as it’s not copyrighted Nintendo music. However, an entertaining cover, or just a cover in general or any kind of remix, unfortunately not possible without a license required.”

SynaMax went on to say that he’d rather Nintendo take over the monetization of his videos than remove them entirely, as it did with a few other, unrelated content from his channel, because of the fact. is that he’s only doing this work for fun and not for money.

“Why can’t Nintendo go down this path? Why can’t Nintendo do this like everyone else? Why should my entertainment cover have to be removed when the song based on it has never been released anywhere It is obvious that there is a strong market demand for Nintendo to release this track outside of the game it has written.I have completed editing the Metroid videos currently in progress. released – only a few videos left – I’m done.”

This is certainly not the first case of a YouTuber being forced to remove their Nintendo-related content following a warning from the company itself. Most recent, DeoxysPrime reveals that it has received over 500 copyright complaints from Nintendoforced deletion of a large amount of content.
