SIE is introducing a series of exciting PS5 titles, including Astro Bot and the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds. Let’s dive in!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater | Publisher: Konami

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater game for PS2. I had the opportunity to play a fighting mission at the PlayStation booth.

When Snake goes into the jungle, he calls his mentor, The Boss. The excellent voice acting for these iconic characters instantly brought me back to my PS2 days with the original. The map design where players move between sub-areas is also faithfully recreated in the remake. While it is possible to create a single large map using today’s advanced technology, the design of the sub-areas helps make each jungle area unique.

The new high-resolution visuals are stunning, with character textures and the atmosphere of the forest realistically rendered. The change in camera perspective, from a bird’s eye view to a third-person perspective, also enhances the sense of immersion while exploring the dense forest. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a game that not only feels fresh with its updated graphics and controls, but also brings a wave of nostalgia by remaining faithful to the story, dialogue, and setting. original map design.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake | Publisher: Square Enix

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, launching on November 14, is a vivid reimagining of the beloved 1998 RPG. The game offers a richer aesthetic by adding 3D effects to the backgrounds pixel-based. The pixelated characters and monsters coexist harmoniously with the 3D backgrounds, and I was captivated by the meticulous depiction of the rippling water surface and interior decoration details. The scene also gradually changes from day to evening to night over time.

With the new Monster Battle Road feature, I can send three captured monsters into the battle arena against teams of other creatures. Although you can’t directly control monsters, you can still choose from four preset strategies to influence your monster combat. I learned that frequently changing tactics will pave the way to victory.

During my playthrough, I also explored Skyfell Tower and fought against the bandit boss, Robbin’ ‘Ood. Like in the original, combat is based on random encounters. Instead of assigning actions to each side, I chose group commands for some of the AI’s combat actions. Combat offers three speed options, so I chose the fastest option for fast-paced, hassle-free battles. Waiting for me at the top of the tower was Robbin” Ood and three of his henchmen. Skillful use of spells, special skills and recovery commands is the key to overthrowing these dangerous enemies.

Metaphor: ReFantazio | Publisher: Atlus

Metaphor: ReFantazio, out October 11 on PS5 and PS4, is a new IP from the creator of the Persona series.

In Dungeon mode, Occupy the Cathedral, I explore with friends who possess awakened abilities, Prototypes, and experience a unique combat system called Fast & Squad. Battles begin with encounters with enemies, which in turn trigger turn-based command battles called Squads. However, against lower ranked opponents, I can attack them immediately with Fast Attack, defeating them with a single blow instead of initiating a turn-based fight.

Squad command battles are based on Atlus’ signature Press Turn Battle system. You can use the Tap Icon to determine how many actions are left for each turn because normal attacks, stronger attacks called Synthesis, and Archetype skills all cost an amount press differently. Notably, attacking an enemy’s weak point does not consume Press and provides more options for additional actions. The thrill of a successful strategy is matched only by the disappointment of a failed strategy, creating a rollercoaster-like feeling where every decision carries significant weight. This intensity and excitement is especially felt in the fight against formidable enemies. Stylish ultimate skill compilation that perfectly captures the essence of Persona.

In Journey mode, I travel on my running gauntlet and mingle with friends to learn more about their identities and what they mean to my character..

Sonic X Dark Generation | Publisher: Sega

Sonic Generations is remastered with new content featuring Shadow in this high-speed action adventure, launching October 25.

I dropped into Space Colony Ark: Act 1 from Shadow’s storyline, guiding the hedgehog through a space station with lightning-fast reflexes. With missiles, lasers, and robots all trying to stop my progress, the power of Chaos Control helped me control them.

Later in the game, I faced a familiar but more powerful boss, Metal Overload, from the 2003 PS2 Sonic game. For this part of the game, Doom Surf was the only way to pass when the stage is set on the ocean. Using L1 and R1, I swung around to deflect enemy missiles to attack the boss. Between jumping over a series of laser beams and avoiding the boss’s tail swipe, this game was filled with endless action and kept me on my toes.

You can also find recent hands-on reports about my experiences with Wild monster hunter, Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirates of HawaiiAnd Dynasty Warriors: Origins at the Tokyo Game Show 2024.
