Plumes of smoke were seen across Beirut as the city was rocked by multiple explosions.

The BBC’s Middle East correspondent, Hugo Bachega, reported from a car as he described chaotic scenes in the Dahieh district.

The Israeli army said it attacked Hezbollah’s “central headquarters” in the Dahieh district, a Hezbollah stronghold.
