F-Zero 99 Update (Version 1.5.0) Adds five new tracks, Satellaview content and more

Nintendo is still rolling out new content updates for its battle royale racer F-Zero 99with today’s Switch Online title getting all sorts of additions.

Patch 1.5.0 adds five new tracks (including Satellaview content), an expanded practice mode, there is now a tab for Grand Prix Ace and more. There is also a one year anniversary event! Here’s the full list, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page:

New addition

  • We have added five tracks (MUTE CITY IV, SAND STORM I, BIG BLUE II, SAND STORM II, SILENCE II) from Ace League of the game BS F-ZERO GRAND PRIX, distributed exclusively on play adapter The Super Famicom satellite wave is called Satellaview. Grand Prix Ace League has also been added.
    • New tracks adapted for F-ZERO 99.
    • Practice mode has been expanded so you can practice by unlocking Ace League tracks.
    • The Grand Prix Ace League tab has been added to the leaderboard.
    • Ace League track information has been added to TRACKS and PRIX in Workshop Records.
    • If you complete the Grand Prix Ace League, you will receive a decal with the BS F-ZERO GRAND PRIX machine motif.
  • A one-year anniversary event will be held. A total of 12 badges, backgrounds, borders and commemorative symbols were prepared. During the event, if you achieve at least one Luck Rank (updated daily), you can receive one of the one-year anniversary rewards. If you collect all 12, you’ll unlock additional decals for each machine.
    • The one-year anniversary event will only be held for a limited time. During the event, Ace League tracks will appear more frequently. You can press the L Button on the Main Menu to check the status of the one-year anniversary reward and the remaining time of the event.
    • One-year anniversary rewards that cannot be obtained during the event period can be obtained from the regular Luck Rank after the event ends. Unlock requirements for bonus decals will also remain the same.
    • If you receive all of the one-year anniversary items during the event period, you will return to the regular Lucky Rank rewards.
    • Any bonus Chips from Lucky Rankings that you earned before the event will be retained, and by returning to regular Lucky Rankings, you can continue from where you left off.
  • As part of the one-year anniversary celebration, players will receive four new remotes as a gift at the game’s launch.
  • Added the ability for players to set which emotes they want enabled and added a function where they will automatically show at specific times.
    • You can set which emoji to display by going to the Workshop menu and selecting Emoji.
    • You can also now set emotes to automatically show when you take down another pilot, eject, or finish a race.
  • In addition to the one-year anniversary bonus, new color boosters and Spin Effects have been added to customize your machine. New backgrounds, badges, and borders have also been added to customize Pilot Cards. All of these can be unlocked when certain conditions are met.
    • A default decal, four backdrops and four borders will be added after completing the F-ZERO 25 training course. These will be automatically added for players who have completed the F-ZERO training course 25.
    • You can only get new boost colors and Spin Effects through limited-time challenges. Press the L Button on the Main Menu to open the Challenge Highlights screen, where you can check out limited-time challenges.
    • You can check the eligibility to purchase and equip new items by selecting MACHINE or PILOT CARD from the Workshop menu.

Other adjustments and changes

  • The training flow has been revised so that Practices and Workshops are unlocked sequentially while F-ZERO 99’s gameplay content is explained to first-time players. Additionally, you can now restart your workout at any time by selecting Replay Workout from Options.
  • You can now choose your team’s color from Team Battles in the Private Lobby.
  • A new bar has been added to the top of the Main Menu showing your skill rating and your distance from the next level.
  • A screen displaying the list of machines and the Pilot Card has been added to the Workshop.
    • Move the cursor over the MACHINE or PILOT CARD in the Workshop and press the Y Button to display the screen.
  • You can now preview enhanced color and Rotation Effects by selecting Machine from the Workshop menu.

    • Reduced damage received and thrust when colliding with other machines.
    • Made adjustments to WILD GOOSE because while it performed well in races with more participants, it struggled in races with fewer participants.
    • Made adjustments to the FIRE Stingray as it tends to lose power easily in crowded machine situations and due to its high Boost cost and low recovery in the Pit Area, it tends to performs worse than other machines in races with large numbers of participants.
  • To minimize situations where you are hit from behind after the bumper collides with the dashboard, we have reduced the speed of the bumper off the dashboard.
  • The winning number displayed above other players’ machines is now hidden on the lobby screen for players who have never won a race.
  • The EXP and tickets awarded for Lucky Ranked matches have been adjusted to give more EXP and tickets.
  • Bonus tickets obtained by logging in once a day have been removed. Along with this change, the daily reward for completing F-ZERO 99, Pro Track, Classic, and Team Battle has been revised from 250 points to 500 points.
  • In Pilot Card customization, certain badges that reflect the number of times an action such as Boost or Spin can now be placed on the Pilot Card to display all the badges you already have Okay.

Other issues

  • Fixed an issue where limited-time challenges were not updating.
  • Fixed other minor issues for a more enjoyable gaming experience.
