Madoka Magica Homura and Madoka doll wearing kimono

Furyu opened the door pre-order for 1/4 scale figures of the Japanese dolls Madoka and Homura from Movie Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion. These dolls depict children wearing Japanese kimonos, looking as if they are getting ready for New Year or some other important festival.

You can get one alone or a collection of both. Buy both at the same time and you’ll also receive an acrylic case to display them. Each doll costs 198,000 JPY ($1348.10) or you can buy both for 396,000 JPY ($2696.20). These are quite expensive, but they are completely made to order and since they are 1/4 scale they are quite large. Pre-orders are open until December 9, 2024, and they will appear around December 2025. Shipments will begin in December 2025. Furyu offers international shipping so foreign customers Outsiders can also buy these dolls.

Doll artist Ayumi Uyama designed the costumes. The kimono is not exactly traditional but incorporates some Western style and feel into it. This seems to be a reference to their magical girl costumes. Non-traditional elements include lace at the collar and hem. While Madoka was holding a temari ball in her hand, Homura was holding a bag. The design of the bag made it look as if she was moving around Kyubey’s severed head.

The Japanese dolls Madoka and Homura are available for pre-order via Furyu and will launch in December 2025.
