Neo Geo Beat ‘Em Up ‘Vengeance Hunter’ brings the transformation fight next week
Developer Nalua Studio reveals its classic side-scrolling beat Hunter revenge earlier this year and its Switch launch is imminent, with this version appearing on the eShop above October 28.
Developed for the Neo Geo, this game puts you in the role of one of three unique warriors—sword-wielding warrior Candy, mechanized menace Golem, and rocket-firing scientist Loony—as you make your way through the years. The world is filled with terrifying enemies and bosses.
It’s packed with some wonderfully detailed pixelated visuals and sounds like a toe-tapping soundtrack. With the option to play solo or in two-player local co-op, this could be a nice way to scratch that classic itch on the Switch (again).
Here’s the official list of the game’s features and some screenshots provided by Nalua Studio:
Reward system
The game will have a trophy system that is tied to the choices and gameplay in the game in many ways. This includes number of enemies defeated, levels completed with little/no damage taken, completion speed, max combo meter, game completion, items picked up, zones secret areas are found, secret items are found and picked up, bosses are completed, and completing that boss meets certain criteria regarding damage and time to defeat.
Play method
Vengeance Hunters features up to Two players play simultaneously via couch Co-Op. A second player can join at any point in the game. There will be three difficulties for players to choose from. The training phase allows players to practice combos and techniques.
Sound ambition
The game will have an outstanding theme song, each level has its own soundtrack, Boss specific music and an ending song. There are tons of different sound effects for all the different attacks, enemies, bosses, and some appropriately “bitcrushed” digitized speech for the era.
Vengeance Hunter is available to pre-order now from eShop conversion because £17.99 / $19.99.
