Arnold Schwarzenegger endorses Kamala Harris: Trump will ‘four more years of bull–t’



Arnold Schwarzenegger may “hate politics more than ever” and not “really approve,” but the possibility of a second Donald Trump presidency has a former Republican “governor” speaking out in favor of the Party ticket Democracy.

In a message posted X, Schwarzenegger said he will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz this week. He warned another Trump presidency would be “four more years of fruitless bullshit, leaving us increasingly angrier, more divided and more hateful.”

“We need to close this chapter of American history and I know that former President Trump will not do that,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than before and we, the people, will get nothing but anger.

“I want to move forward as a nation and although I have many disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz,” he continued. “Vote this week. Let’s turn the page and put this trash behind us.”

Schwarzenegger’s message emphasized his belief in bipartisanship and effective policymaking, calling it important in today’s polarized environment. “It requires working with the other side, not insulting them, to win the next election,” he noted.

“But a candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it’s for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with Diet Coke, a candidate who shows an inability to work to pass any policies other than tax cuts that help his donors and other wealthy people like me but don’t help anyone else, a candidate claiming that Americans who disagree with him are a greater enemy than China, Russia or North Korea — that will not solve our problems,” Schwarzegger wrote.

This endorsement marks a major change for businessmen and the former Republican governor, who made no formal endorsements in the 2020 race despite his public criticism of the former president.

Trump and Schwarzenegger have a complicated relationship. Schwarzenegger took over Famous Apprentice from Trump in 2017, during which time the series saw viewership decline. Trump blames Schwarzenegger in the ratings, but Schwarzenegger blamed Trump’s polarizing politics and already declining viewership for the show’s decline.

Finally he left the show a year later, blamed Trump for carrying “baggage” as executive producer.

“I loved every minute of working with NBC and Mark Burnett. Everyone — from the celebrities to the crew to the marketing department — was a 10 and I would definitely work with all of them again on a show without this burden,” Schwarzenegger said in a 2018 statement.
Schwarzenegger did not vote for Trump in 2016announced that for the first time since becoming an American citizen, he did not vote for the Republican presidential candidate.
