You can talk with ChatGPT’s Enhanced Voice Mode on MacOS and Windows now
If you rely on it ChatGPT for your daily workflow, using a desktop app can make interacting with a chatbot much more seamless — even more so with Advanced voice mode.

On Wednesday, saying it was a “big day for desktop,” OpenAI made Advanced Voice available in its MacOS and Windows ChatGPT desktop apps. This feature is available to all users who download the latest version of the app.
Advanced Voice refers to OpenAI’s AI-powered voice assistant that can be interrupted, host multi-turn conversations, and respond to user emotions for an intuitive and useful chat experience more. It solves the problem that most voice assistants have when trying to understand what is said.
While it sounds too good to be true, in my testing it was capable of carrying on lengthy conversations and understanding me even when my thinking wasn’t linear. Some fun use cases include chatting with ChatGPT about your day, playing trivia games, or talking about yourself. However, it has similar practical use cases as a regular voice assistant.

With the desktop app, users still cannot access Voice Mode’s multimodal capabilities, including supporting content on the user’s screen and using the user’s phone camera. used as context for feedback, for which OpenAI has not yet shared a release date.
