How to earn World of Hyatt points through hotel stays, credit cards, and partners

You can stay some Great Hyatt properties with reasonable conversion rates. So you should save now if you have your eye on an ambitious vacation. Serious, Redeem Hyatt points for your next hotel stay could save you thousands of dollars.

Earn Hyatt points when you travel
World of Hyatt rewards its members for every stay at a hotel in its global portfolio. You can earn points on all Hyatt hotel stays booked directly through the Hyatt website, including Mr. and Mrs. Smith attributes, the Brands Thompson and JdV — added as part of the Two Roads Hotel integration — and a catalog of more than 100 all-inclusive resort.

Hyatt awards 5 points per dollar spent on Hyatt hotel stays and qualifying room charges (room service, bar tab, spa services, etc.). This number is consistent across the brand’s portfolio, so you’ll earn the same number of points staying at a Hyatt Regency as you would a stay at a Hyatt Centric, if the price is the same.
In addition to hotels, you’ll earn 10 World of Hyatt points for every qualifying dollar spent Find experience.
Tourists with World of Hyatt elite status will earn bonus points on all hotel stays. Here are the additional points each level earns:
- Explorer: 10% bonus
- Adventurer: 20% bonus
- Globalist: 30% bonus

So if you are one Hyatt’s World Globalist members stay at the Grand Hyatt for three nights for $150 per night, you’ll earn 2,925 points on your stay at the hotel.
For example: 150 USD (per night) times 3 (for number of nights stayed) equals 450 USD. Then $450 times 5 (for points earned per dollar spent) equals 2,250 points. To calculate your Globalization elite status bonus, you multiply 2,250 points by 30%, which equals 675 points. Therefore, you’ll earn a total of 2,925 Hyatt points for this three-night stay.
Although your points earning potential may seem smaller compared to other loyalty programs like Hilton Title And IHG One RewardsHyatt has a lower redemption rate.
Awards nights at World of Hyatt brands start at just 3,500 points per night on off-peak days at Category 1 hotel.

Earn Hyatt Rewards points through promotions
For qualifying stays at select new hotel in Hyatt’s portfolioyou can earn an extra 500 points per night during the first few months it’s open.
You can find a list of eligible properties, including Thompson Palm Springs, Hyatt House BWI Airport/Baltimore, and Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica. This.

Earn Hyatt points through meetings
Hosting meetings and events at Hyatt hotels can help you accumulate points and status. You’ll earn 1 point per dollar spent (up to 50,000 points) on qualifying expenses like meeting rooms and event spaces. You can also achieve World of Hyatt elite status by hosting meetings:
- Explorer: 3 meetings
- Explorer: 10 meetings
- Globalist: 20 meetings
However, the ability to earn elite status through hosting qualifying meetings will cease on December 31, 2024. Starting in 2025, individuals can earn night credits elite based on qualifying event fees. You’ll earn 2 qualifying night credits for every $5,000 in qualifying event fees.
Note that corporate or personal accounts can earn up to 60 elite night credits per calendar year.
Earn Hyatt points via credit card
The easiest way to increase your Hyatt balance is to use the right credit card. Chase’s two co-branded Hyatt credit cards are now open to new applicants: Hyatt World Credit Card and World of Hyatt corporate credit card.
Hyatt World Credit Card
Annual fee: $95
Welcome offer: You can earn up to 60,000 bonus points – 30,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening, plus up to 30,000 additional bonus points by earning 2 points per dollars spent in the first six months of account opening on purchases (spend up to $15,000).
Category rewards: Earn 4 points per dollar spent when you use your card to make eligible purchases at Hyatt hotels; 2 points per dollar spent at restaurants, airfare purchased directly from the airline, on local travel and transportation, and on fitness club and gym memberships; and 1 point per dollar spent on all other qualifying purchases.
privilege: You will receive one free night per year after your cardholder anniversary, valid at any Class 1-4 business. You can earn a second free night by spending $15,000 on the card during your card membership year. The card also offers automatic Explorer elite status for as long as your account is open. You’ll enjoy five qualifying nighttime credits every year, plus two additional credits for every $5,000 you spend on the card.
World of Hyatt corporate credit card
Annual fee: $199
Welcome offer: Earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.
Category rewards: You’ll earn 4 points per dollar spent on qualifying purchases at Hyatt hotels; 2 points per dollar spent in your top three categories Expenditure categories each quarter and on fitness club and gym memberships; and 1 point per dollar spent on all other qualifying purchases.
privilege: You’ll receive up to $100 in Hyatt credits each anniversary year (issued as a $50 statement credit up to twice per anniversary year when you spend $50 or more at any property any Hyatt with my card). You’ll also receive automatic World of Hyatt Explorer status for as long as you keep your card, as well as the ability to gift Explorer status to up to five employees. And for every $10,000 you spend in a calendar year, you’ll earn five qualifying night credits toward higher levels of Hyatt elite status.
Earn Hyatt points with partners
If you don’t have any upcoming stays at Hyatt and don’t plan on purchasing a new credit card, don’t worry. There are still many ways to collect Hyatt points.
Transfer credit card rewards points to World of Hyatt
You can transfer Chasing the ultimate reward points from cards like Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to World of Hyatt at a rate of 1:1. The best is the transfer should be handled immediately.
TPG values Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents each and World of Hyatt points at 1.7 cents each, according to our November 2024 valuation. However, transfers are irreversible, so we recommend transferring points only if you specifically intend to redeem them.

Earn money on US flights
If you have elite status with the World of Hyatt program, you can Earn Hyatt points when you fly on American Airlines. Thanks to the partnership, Hyatt elite members earn 1 Hyatt point for every dollar spent on qualifying American Airlines flights.
This income is added American Airlines AAdvantage miles you will earn. All you need to do is link your Hyatt and AAdvantage accounts through this link. Unfortunately, this perk of earning reciprocal loyalty will end on December 31.
Rent a car from Avis
Like most hotel chains, car rentals can earn World of Hyatt points. Rent with Avis and use code “K817700” to receive 500 World of Hyatt points per rental.

Transfer points between family and friends
World of Hyatt members can Transfer points between accounts free of charge. However, you can only send or receive points once every 30 days. And unfortunately, you cannot complete this transfer online. You must fill it out this form (PDF link) and send via email. Both the member transferring points and the recipient must sign the form before you send it. Hyatt will complete the transfer process upon receipt and review of the form.
Buy Hyatt points
The final method to earn Hyatt points is to buy directly. In general, you rarely (if ever) Buy points or miles of any kind without bonuses or discounts. Luckily, Hyatt regularly holds point-of-purchase promotions. If you want to redeem premium rewards and need to add money to your account, purchasing Hyatt points is an option.
