Manga Z Library will be discontinued in November 2024


After 14 years, Manga Library Z will turn off its online service on November 26, 2024. According to the announcement, this is because the site has had trouble with credit card companies and the like over the past few years.

Manga Library Z is an online service that allows people to read discontinued manga series, while also providing income to the original artists in the form of advertising revenue. Some series that Manga Library Z are particularly rare or currently only available in digital format. The announcement later provided more details about why the site had to be shut down. This is because payment services like credit card companies cut ties with them. Since this would lead to loss of income, Manga Z Library tried to protest against this, but the companies were unmoved on this decision. Without money, the site could not return any profits to the authors and so they decided to shut down the site rather than betray the trust of the artists or fans. It apologizes for this decision. However, this is not the end of Manga Library Z and the site is looking for different ways to start again. Some possibilities include crowdfunding or becoming a nonprofit.
