Sanrio mascots cuddle their own stuffed animals in Gacha toys
Takara Tomy will be releasing miniature figures of Sanrio characters holding an even smaller stuffed animal of themselves that will be available to you as gacha prizes. You’ll be able to start pulling them in mid-November 2024. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
Please note that the cost is 300 JPY per test. That would convert to about $2. There are four variants in total: My Melody, Pochacco, Hangyodon and Pompompurin. They were all holding stuffed animal versions of themselves, except Pompompurin. Instead of holding the smaller version of Pompompurin, he placed it on its stomach while lying on its back.
All figures are around 30 to 50 mm in size, but you can see that Takara Tomy put quite a bit of effort into the design. Since Sanrio’s characters look quite simple, it’s not too difficult to portray them accurately. But in the specific case of these characters, you can tell that they’re holding plush versions of themselves because the dolls look like they’re covered in fur. Some even have visible stitching to make it more visible.
This isn’t the first time Takara Tomy has released Sanrio toys specifically for gacha machines. IN March 2024for example, it released a line of mascots that look like sushi. The line includes Hello Kitty, Pochacco, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and Keroppi.
The Takara Tomy Sanrio characters show themselves holding deluxe versions of themselves which will be released mid-November 2024 in Japan via the gacha machine.
