Are these characters missing from the Dynasty Warriors origin?
47 (Forty-seven). That’s the total number of Musou Officers—the official term for unique fighting characters—Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have specified IN Origins of dynastic warriors. This number is also exactly half that Dynasty Warriors 9 list, has 94 characters. From there we got to know all the characters in that list. But while most of the missing characters are due to time constraints, some of them are actually within that time period and thus could have brought depth to the story. Origins of dynastic warriors into the question.
PS2 era Dynasty warrior entries cover events up to the Battle of the Wuzhang Plain in 234 AD. Dynasty Warriors 7 onwards extended coverage to the fall of the Shu kingdom in 264 AD. However, Source‘ producer Tomohiko Sho disclose that the new game will only last until the Battle of Chi Bi / Chi Nham in 208 AD.
That naturally means that characters born or released after 208 AD won’t have a chance to appear here. I also noticed a general aversion to bringing child characters outside of Sun Jian’s family, such as Cao Pi and Guan Ping. Additionally, the protagonist’s perspective will branch out from the Han alliance to follow one of the three main faction leaders of the period. That means the game likely won’t feature events outside of those perspectives, such as Ma Chao’s debut right after Dong Zhuo’s assassination in battle. Love story of the Three Kingdoms novel.
However, not all characters are missing Origins of dynastic warriors‘ list may be suitable for the above reasons. Some of them have notable plot twists in the timeline mentioned in the game, but they’re still noticeably absent from the list.
For example, when Tomohiko Sho revealed Zhuge Liang’s wife English MusicHe added that she would be the only female character in Liu Bei’s faction. That statement pretty much rules out the case of Xiahouji, Xiahou Yuan’s niece and Zhang Fei’s last wife. The two would have a fateful meeting in 200 AD, still within that time period. Source‘ timeline covered.
We also saw it Tran Cat appears both in combat and event scene. However, the absence of her future husband Cao Pi casts doubt on her prominence in the plot. Instead, I’d like to see Cai Wenji fill that void. She may have been featured in a side stage based on an episode in 207 AD where Cao Cao ransomed her from the Xiongnu tribe. Additionally, she doesn’t carry any additional baggage as no one else in her immediate family is considered a unique character in the series.
On the other side of the Ton family, Dai Kieu once suffered the fate of being abandoned Dynasty Warriors 6her list, with her sister Xiao Qiao as the chosen one. However, this time both sisters were not on the list. That would raise questions about how Omega Force would handle the backdrop of the Battle of Chi Bi, as Cao Cao’s concern for the Qiao sisters has been cited as one of the motivations behind the campaign.
In addition to the three main factions, Dong Bai’s niece is one of the unnamed characters Origins of dynastic warriors despite appearing in Dynasty Warriors Explosion And Dynasty Warriors 9. While Dong Bai does not appear in Love story of the Three Kingdomsshe was mentioned in history Records of the Three Kingdoms period. Her appearance will probably help portray a different side of Dong Zhuo, who gave titles and privileges to his family when he took power.
One of the biggest omissions from the list is probably Lu Bu’s daughter, Lu Lingqi. The character has become popular among Three Kingdoms fans since Koei introduced her in the 2003 game. Dynasty tactics 2. Depicting Lu Bu’s daughter as a warrior like her father has become a staple in many Three Kingdoms-themed games, so leaving her out of the mix would feel out of place.
I mainly mentioned the female characters in the series above, but there are also some notable male characters missing from the series. Origins of dynastic warriors‘ List of 47 characters. Lu Xun, Xu Sheng and Ding Feng were among the list of newcomers who joined Sun Quan when the latter assumed leadership of the clan in the early 200s. However, it could be argued that their main focus would come in later battles.
But some of the most notable shortcomings came from Cao Cao’s side. Man Chong worked under Cao Cao from the beginning. But despite his almost no notable activity in early battles, he was still responsible for recruiting the great general. Tu Hoang into Cao Cao’s ranks.
However, there is no omission in the squad more glaring than the absence of Cao Ren. Historical records show that this general often commanded separate units away from Cao Cao’s main army, but the introduction Tu Thuc requires describing his one-time tactical support of Liu Bei, which became the Battle of Xinye in the novel. While Li Dian also joined the opposition in this battle, there would have been a large void that could not be filled if Cao Ren himself had not appeared as army commander.
As I write this, Omega Force is still slowing down reintroduced 16 characters have appeared on the game’s official website. Therefore, it is still unclear whether the above characters will still appear or disappear completely Origins of dynastic warriors.
But after seeing Master Zhuge Liang’s introduction Sima Hui as a new non-combat NPC, it gives me some hope that some of the above characters may still appear as event-specific NPCs. However, seeing warrior-type characters like Cao Ren and Lu Lingqi without appearing in combat still feels quite out of place.
Origins of dynastic warriors will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC worldwide January 17, 2025.
