It’s been a big year for new releases, and today we’re celebrating the best PlayStation games by asking you to vote for your favorites of the year: the Game Awards poll of the Year 2024 on the PS Blog is now open!

We’re highlighting exemplary work from major studios around the world in 19 categories. It all helps shine a light on the creators whose hard work and excellent craftsmanship made this year’s gaming experience so exciting: great gameplay, memorable characters, exceptional art direction , unforgettable background music, etc

The choices within each category are extensive, and you have additional options via the write-in option within each category to add the title that, for you, best represents that category this year. As always, the only votes that count in these awards are those of you, the players. Games that receive a majority of votes at the end of the poll will be recognized with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum honors on the PS Blog when we reveal the results in a few weeks.

As always, there are some guidelines regarding categories and nominees:

• The Best PS5 Games category is defined as new games released this calendar year, rather than previously released titles with new updates.

• Like the majority of other categories, Best Multiplayer Experiences focuses on titles released in 2024. Best Ongoing Games focuses on titles that already have new, large-scale content major or game-changing updates launched in the past year.

• The best re-releases refer to games that have been upgraded, ported, or remastered but are otherwise similar to their original game. This category does not include full-scale remakes of older titles, which qualify in other categories.

• The deadline for this year’s nominations is November 30. Titles released after this date will not be eligible to be included in the nominations but will be eligible to be nominated and voted on. in next year’s Awards.

• If a title won the Platinum Cup in the most anticipated category in any previous year, that title will be ineligible for inclusion this year to give other titles a chance to shine. Thus, Grand Theft Auto VI is in the category of Most Anticipated Games of 2025 and beyond – as it won the Platinum award in that category in the 2023 Awards.
