Are your AirPods Pro falling out of your ears? This $20 fix changed my life
Of all the computing devices I own, my AirPods Pro are the least portable. No, that’s not a typo. Let me explain.
I loved my first set of AirPods Pro, even after I Drop them into your coffee cup. They have continued working for more than a year since then. I recently purchased a pair of 2nd generation AirPods Pro over Black Friday weekend. (You can Still save $80 on them if you are interested.)

The biggest reason I love AirPods Pro is because they automatically switch between my different devices with ease. I have two Macs and an iPhone in my family room (which also happens to be our work hub), and those AirPods Pro can be connected to any of my active devices in seconds . It’s great for productivity.
I also love them because I can wear them (even without any tunes playing) to block out the noise of my puppy’s constant licking. It’s a repetitive sound that, when heard while trying to concentrate on writing, can be incredibly distracting.
You know what I didn’t like about the AirPods Pro at first? I cannot move with them.
No matter what I do, if I move my head even the slightest bit, the little headphones always fall out of my ears. Yes, I chose the right size silicon tips and even ran Apple’s audio test. But not only could I not walk with them on, I also couldn’t turn my head left or right. Just turning your head to the right a little will cause the right headset to fall straight into the nearby trash can.

Then I complained about this problem to my wife. So she found me a solution. She does it. How wonderful!
She found me a set AirPod Pro memory foam ear cushions. Unlike the silicone that comes with the AirPods Pro, the memory foam version compresses to the size and shape of the ear. They also seem to provide better soundproofing, but my real joy is that they keep my AirPods from falling out.
They are just in my ears. It’s such a relief to not have to fish them out of the trash every time the puppy jumps on me!

By the way, we found other memory foam tips for AirPods Pro, including this set for ten dollars. But the reviews on the set she bought me were better and they were definitely worth it. I wrote most of this article, then stood up and refilled my coffee cup without it falling out of my ears.
Life changes. It’s glorious. I feel so free!
