Onkyo Wireless Headphones Play the Sega Saturn startup sound
Onkyo has announced a new pair of wireless headphones that feature the Sega Saturn motif and play the original console’s system and startup sounds. The new headphones are priced at 15,500 yen (or about $100 USD) and can be pre-ordered from Onkyo online store on December 19, 2024 in Japan.
As a reminder, the Onkyo online store offers international shipping through the third-party Buyee service. The headset itself is styled after the Sega Saturn’s controller, with the left and right sections having its halves. Meanwhile, the case looks like a 1994 console.
Additionally, Onkyo is offering a wireless charging platform for headsets designed in the style of Sega Saturn game discs. In particular, the font used for the text “Wireless charger” displayed on it is the same as the font used for Virtua fighter Title cards appear in the first 3 games in the series. The charger costs 4,400 yen (~$28.46.)
